After waiting for a really long time of 22 years, Tara Singh is back on the big screen again. The movie ‘Gadar 2’ has come out. If you were excited about this movie and are thinking of watching it, take a look at our review. Find out how much excitement Sunny Deol brings to this movie with his performance.
Sequel movies are really popular in Bollywood (Hindi cinema) right now. This is a good sign for the movie industry, and it shows that people love watching movies on the big screen in a special way. There were two new movies released this Friday, and both of them are sequels. One of them is called ‘OMG 2’ and stars actors like Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam. Even though it has a different story from the movie ‘OMG’ that came out 11 years ago, it’s still part of the same series. The other movie is ‘Gadar 2,’ and it continues the story from a movie called ‘Gadar’ that came out 22 years ago. When a sequel movie comes out, people expect it to be as good as the first one, or even better. The director of ‘Gadar’ is Anil Sharma, and this new movie is also expected to be a big success at the box office, just like the first one. Both Zee Studios, the company making the movie, and Anil Sharma, the director, are hoping for a lot of success this time too.
Fans were really excited and couldn’t wait to see Sunny Deol’s new movie ‘Gadar 2’. The first part of this movie, called ‘Gadar’, came out in 2001. That’s the movie that made Sunny Deol a beloved actor among fans and he became known for saying ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ (Long Live India). Now, after waiting for a really long time of 22 years, the character Tara Singh is back on the big screen. Let’s see how many exciting moments he brings to the theaters with this new movie.
What is the story of Gadar 2?
Reviving 22 years old feelings
Apart from the story, Anil Sharma has kept the whole new chola of two songs from the previous film ‘Gadar’ as an attraction point for the audience in this film. Ud Ja Kale Kaga is a classic song. However, the song ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’, transformed into father-son affection, was also successful in presenting Tara Singh’s son Utkarsh Sharma’s dance skills in a better way. Anil Sharma had earlier made ‘Genius’ to launch his son Utkarsh in films, but seeing the film ‘Gadar 2’, it seems that Anil Sharma should have made this film first. Continuity of Utkarsh’s beard may be messed up here but he has worked shoulder to shoulder with Sunny Deol. The innocence of his face comes in handy in the romantic scenes, while in the climax scenes he manages to deliver the dialogue of the film ‘Gadar’, ‘Hindustan Zindabad Tha, Hindustan Zindabad Hai and Hindustan Zindabad Rahega!’ So applause rings in the cinema hall for this dialogue as well as for Utkarsh Sharma. Supporting Utkarsh is newcomer Simrat Kaur and she too has done a decent job as per her debut film.
‘Gadar 2’ starts with lots of smoke. At the start, Nana Patekar, who is the storyteller, tells you about Tara Singh and Sakina. He talks about how Tara met Sakina, how they fell in love, and then how Ashraf Ali took his daughter back to Pakistan. You’ll also see little Charanjeet, also known as Jeete, crying as he remembers his mother. In the end of ‘Gadar’, Tara brought Sakina and Jeeta back to India from Pakistan.
The streets of Lahore and the same hand pump
In the exciting ending of the movie, there’s a scene where a group of people holding swords surrounds Tara Singh on the streets of Lahore. Right in front of him, you can see a green hand pump. Remember the powerful scene from the first ‘Gadar’ movie where a hand pump is pulled out? Well, that scene has a big impact, and what comes after it shows how smartly Anil Sharma directs the movie. Anil Sharma has directed six more movies after ‘Gadar,’ working with famous actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. However, people loved the movie ‘Apne’ the most, where the Deol family acted together on screen. The special bond between Anil Sharma and Sunny Deol once again shines in ‘Gadar 2,’ making this movie really special. And for fans who came to watch the film, Sunny Deol’s hammer scene is a fantastic treat to enjoy.
The next part of the story is about Tara Singh, who drives a truck. He still loves Sakina and sings songs for her. Tara works near the Punjab area where the Indian Army is based, and there’s a Colonel named Devendra Rawat (played by Gaurav Chopra) there. Tara’s son, Charanjeet or Jeete, has grown up and he’s now going to college. Tara wants him to study and become successful. But Jeete wants to go to Mumbai and become an actor, just like Dharmendra and Raj Kapoor.
Manish Wadhwa’s hard work also paid off
Over the past 22 years, two famous actors from the movie ‘Gadar’, Amrish Puri and Vivek Shouk, have passed away. This film also honors their acting. Especially for Manish Wadhwa, who took over the role of the villain from Amrish Puri this time, it was quite a challenge compared to the rest of the cast. Manish played the character of General Hamid Iqbal, who smokes cigars, has a dangerous look on his face, and is ready to harm others at any moment. He did a great job in this role and kept the movie balanced throughout. Usually, villains in movies with Sunny Deol’s strong presence have struggled to match up to characters like Ashraf Ali. However, if Manish Wadhwa continues to get good roles, he could potentially redefine villainy in Hindi cinema.
