Parana time designates the period for breaking the fast, occurring after sunrise on Dwadashi Tithi, as the Ekadashi fast can be concluded on the subsequent day. The Parana time can be confirmed through Drik Panchang.
Dev Uthani 2023: Optimal Time for Breaking the Ekadashi Fast
Failing to break the fast during Parana time is deemed an offense. Hari Vasara, the initial one-fourth duration of Dwadashi Tithi during Pratahkaal, is the most suitable time for breaking the fast. If one misses breaking the fast during Pratahakaal, it should be done after Madhyahna. Devotees are advised to wait for Hari Vasara to conclude before breaking the fast.
