Delhi Metro has asked its travellers to wish Happy Diwali to those who stopped them for security checks. The move comes as a measure to create awareness among the public about the importance security staff who sacrifices the joy of celebrating the festival with their relatives for our security.

“We have requested all our passengers to wish ‘Happy Diwali’ to the security staff deployed at all Metro stations. This will help in creating an atmosphere of bonhomie and also remind everyone about the importance of safety and security,” a Delhi Metro spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that the measure was taken in view of the large number of people who are expected to use the Metro during the festive season. “We want to send out a message that everyone needs to be alert and vigilant during this time and at the same time be thankful to the people who make our journey safe,” he said.
