New Ashok Nagar RRTS station is being built very close to the metro station to connect Rapid Rail and Delhi Metro. There will be hardly 100 meters distance between the two stations. Metro and Rapid stations will be connected by 90 meter long FOBs. The FOB will be 6 to 12 meters wide and its height from the ground will be around 8 meters. After the formation of FOB between the two stations, the passengers will be able to reach easily from one mode of transport to another without going out of the station premises. This will benefit people traveling with luggage besides women, elderly and children. The height of New Ashok Nagar RRTS station will be around 22 meters.
This FOB will connect the concourse level of the metro station to the floor below the concourse level of the RRTS station. Not only this, NCRTC will construct two more FOBs at this station for better connectivity to the surrounding areas. On one side of the RRTS station, a 42 m long and 6.5 m wide FOB will be built to connect Chilla Gaon and the surrounding areas of Mayur Vihar Extension. Keeping in view the convenience of the people living in the New Ashok Nagar area on the other side of the RRTS station, a 45 meter long and 8 meter wide FOB will be constructed near the ancient Shiva temple.
In future, to go to Meerut or airport, instead of going to Anand Vihar or Sarai Kale Khan, they will get rapid rail directly from New Ashok Nagar. Apart from this, after the construction of all the three RRTS lines, they will be able to catch the train from here.
